Serv-Safe Food Safety Course
The Morongo Basin Chapter of the American Red Cross offers the National Restaurant Association's food safety course
that is approved as an accredited training and certification program by the State of California. California Health & Safety
Code, Section 113700-113733 requires “each food facility shall have an owner or employee who has successfully
passed an approved and accredited food safety certified examination.” In California, owners/employees must re-
certify in Serv-Safe every three years even though the Restaurant Association issues Serv-Safe certificates with a
validity period of five years. The following lessons are covered in the course:
