Disaster Emergency Services
Twenty-four hours a day, 365 days a year, through our Disaster Action Team, the Morongo
Basin Chapter of the Red Cross provides emergency disaster relief. These disasters range
from single-family house fires to earthquakes, floods and wildfires. A trained staff of
volunteers donates thousands of hours each year to support both local and national relief
efforts.
All Red Cross disaster assistance is free, made possible by voluntary donations of
time and money from the American people.
Red Cross volunteers and caseworkers assist families with disaster-related needs such as:
- Temporary shelter
- Food
- Clothing
- Health services (replacement of prescription drugs and eyeglasses lost in disaster)
- Disaster mental health
- Basic household furnishings
Morongo Basin residents can place disaster welfare inquiries about relatives living in areas
impacted by natural or man-made disasters, war or civil unrest, either in the United States or
another country.
Please call (760) 365-5501 if you are in need of assistance or more information.
International Tracing Services
The American Red Cross provides tracing services to members of the civilian community
regarding their relatives and friends in other countries; when they have been separated by
war, disaster, civil disturbance, and changing world conditions. Our tracing services
department works closely with the Central Tracing Agency of the International Committee
of the Red Cross in locating relatives and friends in other countries.
For more information about Red Cross tracing services, please call (760) 365-5501.
